We voted in some changes to the TS and I thought I would summarize them here for your convenience and throw in some scenarios.
Right now TS is locked allowing for no moves. When the week four games become final I will unlock TS and you may make moves at your leisure.
Any rookie can be moved onto and off of the TS an unlimited amount of times after week 4 ends. However, each time they are promoted from the TS they receive a 10% raise.
Any veteran still on the TS from their rookie contract can be promoted to your active roster with the same 10% raise. Non-rookies may not be sent back to TS.
The take-away is: Only rookies can be moved to taxi squad, ever.
I won't count a promotion as a promotion until the player is on your active roster when he is locked for his game or Sunday at 1pm for Monday night players.
Meaning if you promote a rookie on Tuesday and change your mind Wednesday and demote him I won't charge you 10%. In other words you can play around during the week until the normal submit line-up deadlines. Then the 10% raise will happen for the following week.
This is not the case for veterans. Because as we know only rookies can be demoted to TS ever. You promote a vet. it is permanent. No do-overs or take backs.
You may claim other teams TS players by following existing claims rules.
If your player is claimed you may do four things:
Nothing and they go to the new team.
Promote them to your active roster.
Assign one of your two "Protected" tags.
Protect and promote. Silly to do this to a vet because the promotion alone would protect them and they can't go back to TS.
Once assigned, these PT's, remain with that player until the next league year. April 1st. You cannot change to a different player and if you cut that PT player you do not get a new tag until next year.
If you trade him you get the tag back because his new team cannot have more than two protected tags.
You do not have to assign a protected tag until the player is claimed or you can assign it when you like but it cannot be changed to another player.
You can tell if a player is protected by hovering your cursor over their name. It will say (TAG INFO Protected)
Someone claims your player, you don't tag them, but instead promote them. If they are a rookie and you happen to demote them later, they can be claimed again. You promote again...10% raise again and again and again.
Your player is claimed, you promote on Wednesday, then demote on Saturday,(sneaky you) they will instantly go to the claiming team because the 48 response to a claim window passed.
Your player is claimed Tuesday, you have 48 to answer, you promote on Thursday, he plays that night, you demote. No, you do not and because he played he gets his raise. (The next week)
I'm sure people will have questions but in a nutshell, know these basics.
You can still claim TS players
The other team still has 48 hours to respond
You can protect 2 and/or promote to prevent losing them
Those "protections" stay with that player for the entire year unless that player is traded. So label protected players wisely.
If you waive a protected player you do NOT get his tag back. Trade you do
You do not have to label player ahead of claims
Only rookies can ever go back to the taxi squad
You are responsible for the 10% raise each promotion from TS
You can change your mind about a rookie promotion before he is normally locked at game time. But if a claim exists it is still in effect.
That is NOT true for veterans, once promoted that is it
All other TS rules remain in effect
