Is the Rookie Draft still starting on May 15th? Also when is the IDP draft and what will the format be (all in 1 day like the origional draft or more like the rookie draft but with every team involved)?

Rookie offensive player draft is scheduled to start on the 15th. However I need to set it up to run automatically on MFL. If that is difficult I suppose it could be delayed a day.
Try your best to call the IDP thing an auction to avoid confusion.
Here are my thoughts on that and I will expand on it in the coming days. I will create a IDP auction forum right here on the boards. Owners can start a thread(s) bidding on certain IDP of their choice. So multiple auctions will be going on at once. Owners will check in at their leisure and bid on IDP in other threads and up the bids on players they started.
Once a thread has gone 48 hours without an increased bid it will be locked and the team with the top bid will be awarded that player. If the 48 hours passes and I don't lock the thread because I am sleeping or whatever any bids after the 48 hours will not be counted.
Several bids (auctions)will be going at once so the 48 hours might seem like a lot but with a $200 budget it should go quickly enough to say the least.
The more you check in the better for you but I think if you can't pop in once in two days to up your bid then too bad. Of course I will bid on your behalf via text message and email if needed but I'd have to get the bid on the board with-in the 48 hours.
Then the minor details to iron out, minimum IDP you need to auction, the final scoring for IDP, final starting requirements. Again not the final deal but my first thoughts, increase roster by 10-11, increase the contract term years by 20-24, increase Taxi Squad by 2-3. Just like the original auction you will bid on rookies and they can go on TS for the length of the first contract you give them.
All of your leftover contract years, cap dollars, TS spots, and everything else created or increased just for these IDP will be folded into your current totals eventually. But NOT until very late in this off season perhaps once the regular season begins.
Once all the above quantities are combined you can spend more than $200 on IDP's or divide your TS 50/50 IDP and offensive players or all IDP. However you see fit. But to begin with we all need to start on even ground.

Sounds good. Thought I wonder why we can't do the rookie draft here, as it worked pretty well last year? I'm cool with either way, so long as each way is easy and non complicated.
Also for the IDP Auction, do you want to limit it to say 10-15 bids at a time. I can see a situation where we've got 30 players in bid process, and someone misses out on a player they didn't realize was still open for bids. But I like the idea of it. Do you have any idea when it will be? As it's summer and about to get out of May sweeps, I'm sure many of us will be taking family vacations and such, and if we had an idea of the dates, we might be able to better work around it. Realizing of course that likely we won't all be around for the whole process.
Thank you though Sill Recovering Comish for working these details out.

Couple IDP questions. What happens if your bidding on say all 15 auctions at once and you run out of money but you still hold the winning bid on other auctions. I realize 1 answer might be to give the auction to the person who had the highest bid b4 that but, what if some other team might have got in n the bidding?
Will the bids increase in a set increment ($1, 2, 5, .50)? If this is up for a vote, I vote no, as I think it should be free to the owners how much to increase the value. Though whole dollar amounts would make the most sense.
Lastly when might we be starting the IDP draft?

You vote that we don't vote? Awesome!
I suppose bids are only valid if you have money to pay the salary. Once you win a bid that puts you say at $285 of $290 and your other open bids are $10 and $7 they would then be voided bids.
You can't withdraw bids so we'd have to accept bids until the last bid would put you over.
Owners will need to be proactive and check more often to make sure bids are still valid. Maybe if a bid got voided because a team reached the cap that would count as a new 48 hours giving an owner more than enough time to realize the conditions had changed and maybe now they want to bid.
No voting needed. Minimum bids are $1 for rookies and $2 for veterans and $1 minimum increments for bids.
I see this auction going for 2 or 3 months so I would guess early June. I'm on vacation starting today. So maybe when that is over. It should conclude around mid-august to allow for IDP free agent signings on a FCFS basis.
I'll let everyone know shortly.

Question? You stated in the IDP guideliness there will be 8 startes. Will there be position requirements or could a team potentiall start 8 DB's? Do we have to have a minium at any postion or are we free to draft IDP's at any position with out any restrictions?

I don't suppose the league cares who you auction position wise and there will be a time to sign free agent IDP's but there is clearly a starting requirement for positions.

i am also struggling with making teams auction a minimum of IDP's. I'm not sure it is in the league power to dictate that. So a team could likely auction one big guy and say, "I'm done" then sign the leftovers at $2 veteran minimum. Seems with-in their right and they'd be "stuck" with the quality left.

the auctioneers certainly won't leave much quality so long as the money holds out. My feeling is let it shake out however owners want to strategize. Heavy on auction or avoid it entirely and sign all their guys at the veteran and rookie minimums.
