I think we should give some thought to speeding up the rookie draft. For many owners this isn't an issue the picks are in, in under a few hours. Others take almost the full 24, and 2 owners don't even bother to show up to draft which slows the whole process down.
I think we should look at perhaps making a pick due in 8 or 12 hours. We all know the draft is going on, we all have some idea who we're going to pick up. We all have jobs so yes we all are busy to some extent, however the draft shouldn't take as long as it does.
If I'm remembering correctly, last year at a certain point I'm pretty sure Steve made it a 1st come 1st serve because it was taking so dam long. Any thoughts?

24 hours is fair, if people can do it faster great...but I've never really understood the rush.

Alright, I can assure you I never said any part of the draft was ever first come first served. The draft is schedule to end June 7th. It ended June 2nd last year and there we sat. It is 3 rounds longer this year but there is wisely 3 weeks of nearly nothing going on in June. Built in buffer time, where a round of blind bidding and then TWO weeks for me to report who won which bids. 3.15 May 15th - June 7th or (TBD): RADL Rookie Draft 2012
a. Six round on-line rookie draft begins. Held at radl.proboards.com (Sec. 5) TBD b. Strict time tables established and followed. c. Details confirmed each year before draft. d. Draft may encroach into 3.16 & 3.17, where substantial buffer time is built in.What exactly is the rush? "Let's walk down there and bang them all" a wise bull once said. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but it's summer in June and we're in no hurry. We will likely have the draft right at MFL all automated and such, I figured out how it works, but I can't say that speeds stuff up, in fact it might go slower with some options they offer.

The draft doubled in length and will likely end just 1 or 2 days after the draft ended last year. Still days ahead of schedule for the 3 round draft.

Yeah this was an old post. I've got no issue with the speed it's moving.
